How the Laser Works
Laser light is absorbed by pigmented areas where it is converted to heat, causing breakup in the pigment. When treating leg veins, laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the blood and collapses the broken capillaries and spider veins. Treatments are quick and effective with very minimal or no downtime. Side effects are minimal and disappear within a day or so. Minimal discomfort is felt at treatment and many describe it as a quick rubber band snap. All procedures are performed by a physician, physician assistant, or certified laser technician and are FDA approved.
We currently offer Jobst compression stockings to be used in conjunction with other vein treatments. Different lengths and compressions are available based on your individual need. Knee and thigh highs are most commonly used in treating vein disorders. Jobst also carries waist high and maternity stockings. All stockings are available in a variety of colors, styles, and sizes to fit your need.
We also offer Obagi Systems Skin Care, a cosmetic line of sunscreens and lotions to help protect against the sun's harmful rays.
All laser and cosmetic procedures are performed in the Cape Coral office. Please call (239) 574-6593 for an appointment.

We specialize in a variety of venous disorders including: chronic venous insufficiency, swelling, varicose veins, venous ulcers, and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Often the first step in treating these disorders is with the use of compression stockings. We conveniently have Jobst stockings on site and available for our patients.
Chronic venous insufficiency can result from damaged valves in the veins. This causes swelling and discomfort which can lead to skin damage and leg ulcers.
Edema, or swelling, in the legs occurs when there is fluid buildup in the body, often in the lower leg and ankle.
Venous ulcers occur when chronic swelling interferes with the oxygen flow to the skin causing discoloration, swelling, and open skin with drainage. This is a result of a chronic lack of oxygen and the pooling of blood in the lower leg.
Deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, is a blood clot (or thrombosis) that forms in the vein partially or completely blocking blood flow. A potentially fatal side affect of DVT is the possibility of a clot detaching from the vein wall and lodging in the lungs. Anticoagulants (blood thinners) and compression stockings are two treatments that are available to manage deep vein thrombosis.
Varicose veins are caused by pooling of blood in a damaged vein in the leg. Symptoms include aching, discomfort, inflammation, bulging veins, leg heaviness and fatigue. They may also appear in a spidery pattern, which is why they are often called spider veins. We can treat varicose veins with laser treatments or by non laser foam injections.
Laser Treatments
We are pleased to offer a revolutionary new treatment that can quickly and safely eliminate unsightly leg veins and broken capillaries. Our advanced technology minimizes the redness and bruising normally associated with traditional treatments by delivering the laser light through the skin to collapse and seal shut the vein walls. The sealed vein is then absorbed by the body. The laser allows us to treat any skin type. The appearance of leg veins will dramatically fade or disappear during treatment. Treatments are complete in 10 or 20 minute sessions. One to three treatments may be needed. The laser treats veins up to 4mm in size. Usage of compression stockings is mandatory when having this treatment performed as this helps with the healing process. For your convenience we offer Jobst stockings for sale at our office and we will measure you to assure that you receive the correct size.
Non-Laser Injections
Sclerotherapy is a popular method of eliminating varicose veins and superficial telangiectasias ("spider veins"). A solution, called a sclerosing agent, is injected into the veins to break down the vein wall. This method is used when veins are too large (greater than 3-4 mm in size) to laser. The number of treatments needed varies for each person, ranging from one to six treatments. The most common side effects of sclerotherapy include itching, slight pain, and hyperpigmentation at the injection site. These are temporary and usually subside shortly after the treatment.

Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation
We are pleased to offer enhanced skin rejuvenation, a revolutionary skin treatment using multiple wavelengths to reduce sun damage, pigmentation irregularities, age sports, rosacea, large pores, and broken capillaries. Also treats wrinkles, improves facial tone and stimulates collagen. Treatment can be performed on any part of the body with no down time. Treatments are performed 4 weeks apart and 4-6 treatments will be needed. Results are seen faster by having laser treatment in conjunction with our Obagi prescription skin care line.
Permanent Hair Reduction
Treatments consist of 5-6 treatments 4-12 weeks apart, depending on the area of the body being treated. A series is needed due to the stages of hair growth. Once a series of treatments is completed you may require touch up treatments 1-2 times a year. Any hair regrowth will be lighter and finer. The laser can treat all skin types and most hair colors, although darker hair responds best to the laser. However, very light, fine, white or gray hair will not respond to this treatment because of the lack of pigment which will not create enough heat to damage or destroy the follicle. We perform laser hair removal on all parts of the body, including the face, arms, legs, and back.
Acne Treatment
Our revolutionary new acne treatment is performed biweekly for a series of 4 weeks. The laser delivers light into the skin's surface triggering the body's natural bacteria fighting defenses. These defenses kill the bacteria that cause acne. Patients continue to see improvement up to two months after their series of treatments are completed. The patient may experience minimal redness or swelling for up to a day after their visit. The advantages of this treatment included no downtime, harmful drugs, or side effects associated with many drug therapies. It is a safe, effective way to treat acne.
Pseudofolliculitis /Shaving Bumps
We provide the most advanced FDA cleared laser technology for the reduction and elimination of Pseudofolliculitis (PF), or shaving bumps. They may appear on any area of the body after you have shaved. The laser can treat all ethnic groups and skin types safely and effectively. Approximately 6-8 treatments will be needed to achieve the desired results. This is due to the active growth cycle of the hair. Treatments are performed 4-12 weeks apart and can take between 5 minutes to an hour, depending on the extent of the area.
Botox
Botox is a purified protein complex derived from bacterium clostridium botulism. It works to smooth the muscles by blocking the nerve impulses. Treatment involves a few tiny injections with minimal discomfort in approximately 10 minutes. You may experience side effects such as mild swelling or bruising at the injection site, localized numbness, or headaches. These are temporary and should dissipate shortly after treatment. Improvement may be noticed within hours and occasionally can take up to a week to discern. Results vary, typically lasting 3-6 months.
Juvederm
Juvederm Ultra injectable gel is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into facial tissues to smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth. Juvederm temporarily adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face. Treatment involves tiny injections into the face. You should see immediate improvement in the treated areas and results may last up to 6 months. You may experience side effects such as temporary injections site redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, or bruising, but these are temporary and should subside within 7 days.
